Who operates Bizz

Bizz — Marching Band Social Media is operated by Maxwell Renner. This policy covers the current testing service and this support website. Contact support@bizzmarchingband.com with privacy questions.

Information we collect

  • Account information: your email address, account identifier, username, display name, signup date, and sign-in records. The current online service uses email verification codes.
  • Profile information you provide: your selected school or band, high-school or college level, marching style, high-school graduation year, alumni label, instrument, bio, and profile photo.
  • Content and conversations: posts, captions, photos, videos, comments, replies, polls and votes, direct messages, group-chat messages, and shared posts.
  • Interactions and preferences: follows, follow requests, likes, saves, reposts, post views, pinned posts, drafts, blocked accounts, privacy choices, appearance settings, language, activity status, and earned badges.
  • Support and safety information: reports, report evidence and decisions, suggestions, support emails, and information needed to handle your request.
  • Technical information: our infrastructure providers process information such as IP addresses, request times, browser or device information, authentication events, and error or security logs when providing the service.

The app uses system permission controls when you choose a photo or video. Its current upload flow does not require access to your contacts or precise location.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure your account, send sign-in codes, display profiles and content, deliver messages, run social features and feeds, save your preferences, provide support, investigate abuse, and improve reliability. School, marching-style, and follow choices help organize the content you see.

Post-view and reaction records support post counts and creator statistics. Where profile-visit features are available, named visits require both people to opt in to sharing visits; sharing is off by default. Turning sharing off removes visit records involving that account from that feature. This setting does not turn off ordinary post-view counts or security logs.

Who can see what you share

Profile details such as your username, school, instrument, bio, badges, and signup date can be visible to other signed-in members. Public posts can be seen by members who can access the relevant feed. Private-account controls restrict access to posts and require approved follows; they do not make every profile detail confidential.

Direct and group messages are shared with conversation participants. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Authorized service operators and infrastructure providers may access data when needed to run the service, provide support, investigate abuse, or meet legal obligations. Recipients may keep copies, screenshots, or content they independently share.

Service providers & disclosures

  • Supabase: account authentication, database, media storage, and related service infrastructure.
  • Resend: delivery of account emails, including your email address and the verification message.
  • Cloudflare and the website hosting service: hosting, DNS, network delivery, and routing support email to the operator’s Gmail inbox.
  • Google/Gmail: receiving and managing support correspondence.
  • Apple and Expo: distribution and testing of the iPhone app; their services may process installation, diagnostic, and test feedback information under their own policies. Google Play may provide corresponding services for Android releases.

We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, protect people or the service, investigate security or abuse, or facilitate a business transfer with appropriate notice and protections. Service providers may process information in countries different from where you live.

Advertising & payments

The current test build does not have a connected third-party advertising network or active Bizz Plus or donation checkout. Bizz does not currently sell your personal information or share it with an ad network for cross-app advertising. Advertising placements and paid features are being prepared. This policy and any required consent flows will be updated before new data practices are introduced.

Do not send payment-card details to support. A future subscription or payment service may have its own privacy and billing terms, disclosed when it becomes available.

Storage, retention & security

Account information and content are generally kept while your account remains active and as needed to provide the features you use. Security logs, support correspondence, and moderation records may be kept as needed to resolve issues, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Private drafts remain saved until replaced, published, or removed through the applicable account-data process.

After a verified deletion request, we remove the account and associated personal data from active systems, except information that must be retained for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. We will explain any applicable exception when processing your request. Backup copies can remain until they expire through the provider’s normal backup lifecycle and are not used as active account data.

We use encrypted network connections and access controls. No system is completely secure. Protect access to your email account and do not share sign-in codes.

Your choices & requests

You can edit your profile, delete your posts, manage follows and blocks, choose account privacy, control activity visibility, and adjust available notification and profile-visit settings. App notification settings currently concern in-app alerts; operating-system permissions are managed on your device.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@bizzmarchingband.com. We may need to verify account ownership. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law. See account & data deletion for the current request process.

Younger users

Bizz focuses on the high-school, college, and alumni marching band community and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Do not post another person’s sensitive personal information.

This website & changes

This support website does not create a Bizz account, run an advertising network, or submit a support message when you click an email link. Email links open your mail app. The copy-email button uses the clipboard only when you select it. Hosting providers may process ordinary connection and security logs. The Bizz web app separately stores sign-in and preference information to keep you signed in and remember choices.

We will update the date on this policy when it changes and provide additional notice or consent where required.
